If you are currently, or are planning to be, a contractor or subcontractor within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) you must comply with the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFARS) 252.204-7012. These regulations state that a contractor or subcontractor must implement the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-171. To help you know how to comply with these DFAR regulations, this series of webinars will overview the 14 Cybersecurity “Families” and their respective controls.
In this webinar we will examine NIST SP 800.171 3.4 Configuration Management and 3.5 Identification & Authentication. Ensuring you have control over the digital environment and are aware of what resides within it is essential to establishing a baseline through which you can both identify and evaluate security threats as they occur. This control is manifested through your Configuration Management requirements. This webinar will examine instances on your network where users must authenticate themselves prior to access and how to ensure that all behavior is tied to a unique identifier.
