If you are currently, or are planning to be, a contractor or subcontractor within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) you must comply with the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFARS) 252.204-7012. These regulations state that a contractor or subcontractor must implement the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-171. To help you know how to comply with these DFAR regulations, this series of webinars will overview the 14 Cybersecurity “Families” and their respective controls.
In this webinar we will examine NIST SP 800.171 3.2 – Awareness & Training and 3.3 Audit & Accountability. The NIST Controls work together to create a holistic approach towards building a security program. This webinar will review the important requirements assigned towards creating a culture of security through training and having a security-first mindset. Then, building from there, this webinar will additionally review the requirements for verifying behavior within the Information System and creating an appropriate record through Audit and Accountability.
